Privacy
The short version: your financial information stays on your device. RealityCheck has no account system, no database of user finances, and no server that sees what you type.
What happens to what you enter
Every calculation runs in JavaScript in your own browser. Your income, expenses, savings, existing EMIs and the details of whatever you are considering are used to compute a result on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
There is no API call behind the results page. If you disconnect from the internet after the page loads, the calculators keep working.
What is stored
Your current scenario is saved in your browser's local storage under keys beginning with realitycheck: so that refreshing the page does not lose your progress. This never leaves your device and you can erase it at any time.
Share links
When you copy a share link, your scenario is encoded into the address itself. That means anyone with the link can see the numbers in it. Nothing is uploaded to create the link, but treat it as you would a screenshot of your finances: share it deliberately.
Artificial intelligence
No financial input is ever sent to an AI service. All numbers come from deterministic formulas. If an explanation layer is added in future it will operate on results, will be clearly labelled, and will never be the source of a figure.
Analytics
RealityCheck ships with an analytics abstraction that has no provider connected. If usage analytics are enabled in future, they will record only which calculators are used and which actions are taken — never the values you enter. This page will be updated before any such change takes effect.
Cookies
RealityCheck sets no cookies and uses no third-party trackers. Fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page makes no request to any external service.
